Fancy Sync Box Instructions

Preparation

Adjust the below settings if applicable, not all will apply for you, and for some none will apply.

  • Turning the Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) setting off, in the resolution settings of your Xbox or PS5
  • Turning the Variable Refresh Rate (VRR) setting off on your TV, in the settings
  • Turning "signal input plus" off in your TV settings (if  your TV supports this and the VRR fix didn't)
  • Turning your TV's "gaming mode" off on the TV
  • Turning 4K upscaling off on your TV
  • Making sure your TV is producing a maximum resolution of 4k 60hz
  • Please make sure you have 2.4 GHz Wifi connection (confirm with modem manufacturer).

Step 1 - Bracket Installation

There are two types of brackets provided: Type A and Type B.  Using the double-sided adhesive, peel back the plastic film on one of the sides, to reveal the adhesive. Apply the adhesive strip to the corner brackets. Place one Type B bracket on the bottom corner of your television, and the other Type B bracket on the opposite side, on the top corner. Now, place one Type A bracket on the other free bottom corner, and the second Type A bracket on the opposite side, on the other free top corner.

Step - 2 Fancy LEDs Strip Installation

There are two options for installing the Fancy LEDs strip, based on whether you want the Fancy Sync Box on the left or right of the television.

If the Type A bracket is placed on the bottom left corner, refer to the diagram in option 1 (Page 5).

If the Type A bracket is placed on the bottom right corner, refer to the diagram in option 2 (Page 6).

Step 2 - Choose Only One Setup Option:

                OPTION 1: LEFT-SIDED SETUP

  1. Begin by facing the back of the television. Start by peeling off the plastic film from the first LED strip, to reveal the adhesive. Make sure you begin with the side of the LEDs that has the USB connector. Apply the LEDs onto the bottom left Type A bracket upwards, then utilize the top left Type B corner bracket to bend the LEDs to the top right Type A bracket.
  2. Start by peeling off the plastic film from the second LEDs strip, to reveal the adhesive. Make sure you begin with the side of the LEDs that has the USB connector. Apply the LEDs onto the bottom left Type A bracket to the bottom right type B corner bracket, then continue upwards to the Type A bracket.
  3. Cut the excess strips off (cutting on the indicated lined, see diagram), allowing the LEDs to lie flush in the top right type A bracket.

OR

                 OPTION 2: RIGHT-SIDED SETUP

  1. Begin by facing the back of the television. Start by peeling off the plastic film from the first LED strip, to reveal the adhesive. Make sure you begin with the side of the LEDs that has the USB connector. Apply the LEDs onto the bottom right Type A bracket upwards, then utilize the top right Type B corner bracket to bend the LEDs to the top left Type A bracket.
  2. Peel off the plastic film from the second LED strip, to reveal the adhesive. Make sure you begin with the side of the LEDs that has the USB connector. Apply the LEDs onto the bottom right Type A bracket to the bottom left Type B corner bracket, then continue upwards to the Type A bracket.
  3. Cut the excess strips off (cutting on the indicated line, see diagram), allowing the LEDs to lie flush in the top left Type A bracket.

Now, connect the LEDs into their allocated USB port, based on the set-up option you selected (diagram displays option 2). Connect your smart device into the input HDMI port of the Fancy Sync Box, then connect the television into the output HDMI port of the Fancy Sync Box, using the HDMI cord provided.

Step 3 - Connections

  • Output Port: HDMI cable to your television, monitor or projector.
  • Input Port: HDMI cable to your PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, Apple TV, Computer or other HDMI smart devices.
  • USB Port 1: Top Fancy LEDs strip
  • USB Port 2: Bottom Fancy LEDs Strip
  • 12V Power adapter

Please note, all ports stated above must be propagated. This includes the input slot specifically. You are required to connect a HDMI device into the input slot on the Fancy Sync Box. A compatible HDMI device is required for the syncing of the LEDs, integrated apps on the TV will not be synced. So if you would like to watch Netflix for example with synced LEDs, you will have to watch using a compatible HDMI device like an Xbox or Amazon Firestick.

Almost all HDMI devices are compatible, including:

  • Sony PS5 / PS4 / PS4 Pro
  • Xbox Series X & S / Xbox One X & S
  • Nintendo Switch
  • Apple TV / Apple TV HD / Apple TV 4
  • Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K / Free TV Stick / Fire TV Stick Lite
  • Google Chrome TV Chromecast 4k / Chromecast
  • Other HDMI TV devices / Set-top Boxes / Computers

Step 4 - Fancy LEDs App Download

Download and install the ‘Fancy LEDs’ app onto your smartphone from the App Store or Google Play Store.

Open the application, register, and log in. Follow the in-app prompts to continue set up. If you choose option 1: left-sided set up, select the left side diagram then continue. If you choose option 2: right-sided setup, swipe left and select the right-sided diagram then continue. You can then test if you have set your Fancy Sync Box up correctly by comparing the installation position diagram against your setup (refer to the in-app diagram).

Register and log in after you have completed setting up the Fancy Sync Box.

  • The Fancy Sync supports a maximum 4K 60hz HDR on 16:9 sized screen.
  • The Fancy Sync box only operates on 2.4GHZ network connections
  • Only one phone can be connected at a time.
  • Press and hold the Wi-Fi reset button for 10 seconds to restore the Fancy Sync Box back to its factory Wi-Fi settings if there is any problem or failure in connecting.
  • Try an alternative device if it continues to fail to connect and ensure you have all app permissions enabled in your phone settings.
  • Make sure to disable Variable Refresh Rates settings on your next-gen console and TV. Setting son your TV such as “Gaming modes” may cause flickering.
